Demmy Perez-Colado

President

Demmy is a proud bilingual Latina and first generation college student, currently a senior at San Diego State University majoring in Business Accountancy. As President of ALPFA at SDSU, she is passionate about creating opportunities for students to grow professionally and connect with industry leaders. Outside of academics and leadership, Demmy enjoys hiking and spending time at the beach. Her future goal is to earn her CPA certification and continue empowering her community through leadership and mentorship.

Hi I am Nathen Zagar and I am an Accounting Major currently in my second year. I am from Imperial Beach, California. I aspire to go into big four accounting, get my MBA and then jump into corporate finance to become a Chief Financial Officer at a F500 company.

Ryan Albano is a Junior majoring in Accounting, with two exciting internships on the horizon; one in a Financial Leadership Program (FLP) and another in a Rotational Accounting Program for Audit and Tax. His ultimate goal is to acquire a master’s degree and CPA by 2026. He is originally born and raised in Chicago, but moved out to San Diego. Outside of his academic pursuits, he lives an active lifestyle which consists of working out, outdoor activities, surfing, snowboarding, and sports.

Sebastian is a Masters of Accounting (MSA) Financial Reporting Grad Student working towards CPA eligibility and certification. After being an active member for a semester, Sebastian is excited to work with ALPFA and help new students discover accounting. Additionally, he is starting an Audit Internship in Summer of 2025. Sebastian holds a BA of Communications from University of California, Santa Barbara with High Honors.

Daisy is a proud first generation Latina and is currently a junior as a Finance major with a minor in Leadership. She aspires to become a financial advisor, to empower and guide Latino communities in making informed financial and wealth building decisions. Her passion comes from helping our communities thrive and flourish financially through breaking cultural barriers.

Hi my name is Melissa Mekitarian and I am currently a senior majoring in accounting and I am also an incoming BMACC student. I have completed 2 accounting internships with Sempra and I also have an audit internship at KPMG next summer. I enjoy hiking and playing soccer. My future goal is to receive my CPA license.

Cristina Escobar

Director of Finance

My name is Ivanna and I joined ALPFA my sophomore year. I am from San Diego, California and am going into my fourth year as an Accounting major.

Director of Marketing

Cristina Escobar is a junior majoring in Finance at San Diego State University and a proud first-generation college student. She is bilingual and fluent in both Spanish and English. Cristina has been a member of ALPFA for one semester and is honored to serve in an officer role this year. She is working toward becoming a financial analyst intern and enjoys hiking, watching sunsets, drawing, and spending time with her family.

Pablo Machado

Mr. Machado is a professor at SDSU, especially for Intermediate Accounting II (ACCTG 334). He previously worked in the assurance practice of the Denver office of PwC. An interesting fact about Professor Machado is that he is experienced on Tae Kwon Do.
